Hi Burt,
Great stories as usual. Your story about food set my mind back to when I was a starving univesity student and I flatted in a house with five other guys to save money. Anyway two of the other guys were apprentices and one came home from working in a freezing works with a 66 pound box of Grade A Export steak. We ate like kings for a week until we got to hate the sight of steak again, so the guys started trading our steak weight for weight for fish, and lamb, ever roast pork with 2 Jews in the flat. We all got so we enjoyed all of the othe meals even more; we appreciated good food for a temporary change. Of course when I started to make money in my job, I went back to steak and enjoyed it with the memory of the time we had so much we were trading it for other foods.
Love your vignettes and looking forward to the next batch. Keep up the good work so long as it does not get you down.
